Drum-roll, please. Today we are featuring Becca Proper, who teaches Spanish and English at Ephraim Middle School in South Sanpete School District. She teaches English AND Spanish AND she works with teens AND is a professional in a rural community– could she be any more awesome?! Read on to learn more about her.
Where did you do your teacher prep? Brigham Young University
What is the greatest thing about being an educator? Seeing the lightbulb come on and helping kids feel like they matter as individuals.
What advice would you give to new teachers? Implement new things little by little and over time you will see amazing growth!
Why did you choose to become an educator and why do you choose to stay in the profession? I always felt loved and accepted by my teachers. I want kids to know that information is power and enhances life.
Anything else we should know? I love teaching and some days I can’t believe they pay me to hang out and converse with teenagers! Some days they don’t pay me enough, but that’s the exception!
Becca has such an amazing passion for teaching and such a positive attitude. Thanks for all you do! If you want to connect with Ms. Proper you can follow her on Twitter @beccaproper
Cheers!
